How to play Spiderette Solitaire
Spiderette takes Spider's rules and squeezes them onto one deck and a Klondike-style deal. Columns build down in any suit but only suited runs move together, and completing a King-to-Ace run clears it off the board. Fewer cards does not mean easier โ you have far less room to manoeuvre.
Rules
- Twenty-eight cards are dealt in seven columns, Klondike style, with only the last card of each face up.
- Build down by rank in the columns; the suit does not matter when you place a single card.
- Several cards move together only when they are the same suit and in descending order.
- A finished King-to-Ace run in one suit is removed automatically.
- The stock deals one card to each column; the final deal covers only the first three.
- Clear all four suited runs to win.
Tips to win more often
- Keep a column empty as long as you can โ with only seven columns, space is everything.
- Build in suit from the start; a mixed pile is almost impossible to untangle here.
- Empty your best moves before dealing a new row, because the row lands on everything.
- Dig out face-down cards early, especially in the longer columns.
- If two columns both need the same card, decide which one you are actually going to finish.

Playing on a phone or Chromebook
The board resizes to whatever screen you are on. Drag a card with your finger, or simply tap it and it moves to the first place it legally fits. On a keyboard, N starts a new game, U undoes, H gives a hint and Space draws from the stock.

Frequently asked questions
What is Spiderette?
It is Spider solitaire played with one deck and seven columns, dealt in the Klondike pattern.
Do I have to build in suit?
Only to move several cards at once. A single card can be placed on any card one rank higher.
Can I deal with an empty column?
Yes โ unlike two-deck Spider, Spiderette lets you deal a new row even when a column is empty.
How many cards does the stock hold?
Twenty-four, dealt seven at a time, with the last deal covering three columns.
Is Spiderette easier than Spider?
It is shorter, but not easier. One deck means fewer duplicates to rescue a blocked column.
What happens when a run is complete?
A King-to-Ace run in a single suit is lifted off the board straight away and counts as one of the four you need.
