How to play Yukon Solitaire
Yukon looks like Klondike but plays nothing like it. There is no stock and no waste: every card is on the table from the first move. The twist is that you can grab any face-up card together with the entire pile sitting on it, even if that pile is in no order at all. It rewards players who can see three moves deep.
Rules
- Fifty-two cards are dealt into seven columns; all but the first few cards in each column are face up.
- There is no stock pile โ everything you will ever get is already on the table.
- Move any face-up card, with every card stacked on top of it, onto a card of the opposite colour and one rank higher.
- The cards you carry along do not need to be in any order.
- Only a King can start an empty column.
- Build the foundations up by suit from Ace to King to win.
Tips to win more often
- Uncover the face-down cards in the longest columns first; everything else depends on them.
- Because you can carry junk along, a move that looks ugly is often the right one.
- Do not fill an empty column with a King until you know which King you need there.
- Send cards to the foundations late โ you need low cards on the table to keep moves alive.
- Undo is free here, and Yukon rewards exploring a line and backing out of it.

Playing on a phone or Chromebook
The board resizes to whatever screen you are on. Drag a card with your finger, or simply tap it and it moves to the first place it legally fits. On a keyboard, N starts a new game, U undoes, H gives a hint and Space draws from the stock.

Frequently asked questions
What makes Yukon different from Klondike?
There is no stock pile, and you can move any face-up card together with the cards stacked on it, even when they are out of order.
Do the cards I move have to be in sequence?
No. Only the card you grab has to land legally โ opposite colour, one rank below the card you drop it on.
Can I put any card in an empty column?
No, empty columns take a King, exactly as in Klondike.
Is Yukon solitaire hard?
It is moderately hard. Most deals are winnable, but a careless early move can bury a card you needed.
Is there a stock or waste pile?
Neither. Every card is dealt at the start, which is why planning matters so much.
Can I play Yukon on mobile?
Yes. Drag with a finger, or tap a card to send it to the first place it fits.
